Welcome to the Oasis of Peace Jersey Channel Islands

Jesus said: Whoever drinks of the water I shall give him will never thirst. (Jn 4:14). In this conversation with the Samaritan woman as she came to draw water at Jacob's well, Jesus shows us that He comes to meet us wherever we are on our spiritual journey. He thirsts for our souls and for our love (cf Jn 19:28) Come to find Him in the Oasis of Peace - our new hoped for vision in Jersey. An oasis is a place of refreshment in the desert.

An oasis is a place where life may be saved.  Today there is a desert of noise and worldly preoccupations. Where can you find peace, rest and time to contemplate in silence the purpose of your life; the mysteries of the Lord; your journey to Eternity? We hope to create an Oasis of Peace in Jersey where you will find rest for your soul. You will find Jesus present there waiting for you hidden in the Blessed Sacrament. If you are lost in this busy life, seeking an inner peace, remember that He said: My peace I leave you... a peace the world cannot give.(Jn 14:27).

We hope in the future to invite you to be able to spend a few hours, a day, or eventually longer with the Lord in quiet reflection and contemplation. The dream is to have a place of peace and prayer where individuals, families and groups can come to take 'time out' in order to grow closer to God, seek the peace of Christ and understand the importance of faith in their lives. Get away from the excesses of Jersey where the needs of your body are met but not the thirst of your soul. It would be a place of prayer, witness and sanctuary for all. We need to pray together knowing and trusting that...NOTHING IS IMPOSSIBLE TO GOD!

THE BLESSING OF THE OASIS OF PEACE!

It was in delight and amazement we received the news that Cardinal Cormac Murphy O' Connor would be coming to give a special blessing to the Oasis of peace. We gathered together to welcome the Cardinal and Bishop Crispian on Oct 16th 2007. A short but beautiful service of prayer and blessing was held with Canon Nicholas France & Fr. Peter Glas together with our special visitors. Cardinal Cormac also unveiled a plaque to remember the occasion. Young and old joined in the service and our youth representatives lit candles of hope and prayer. This was indeed a special sign of support and blessing on this vision.
