In 2015 The Oasis Committee made a clear statement that they wished The Oasis to further develop its outreach to some of the most marginalised and vulnerable members of our society by offering a secure environment for individuals on a short term basis following release from prison, providing them with the required stability in order to re-establish themselves within the island community. By 2018 the funding for the required redevelopment had been raised from The Oasis's own resources, support from the Catholic Church in Jersey, individual donations and a grant from the Association of Jersey Charities. Building work commenced in the summer of 2018.
The self contained unit of accommodation, for all those affected by the criminal justice system including those released from prison, on bail and families of prisoners, opened in the summer of 2019. We are grateful to all who have helped to bring this particular aspect of The Oasis Vision to fruition by the offering of their time, talent or treasure and would like to express particular gratitude to The Association of Jersey Charites for their generous grant in support of this project
